Keep staff credentials and drill logs current for licensing

Modified on: Thu, Oct 29, 2026, 7:21 AM

Track every staff member's background check, CPR, first aid, TB test and training hours, and log your fire, earthquake and lockdown drills, so a licensing visit finds everything in one place.

Who this is for

Center directors and office staff. Visitor Management must be on for your center.

Staff credentials

Step 1 — Open the list

Open your center, select the Manage icon (people) in the toolbar, then the Staff tab, then Staff credentials.

Step 2 — Find what needs attention

Each row sums up a staff member, for example "1 expired · 1 missing · 2 of 10 hours". Use the pills to filter: Needs renewal, Expired, Expiring soon, Missing and Current.

Step 3 — Open a staff member

Tap a row. Credentials and training lists the background check (DCYF / MERIT), fingerprints, CPR, first aid, food handler card, TB test, safe-sleep training and STARS / MERIT ID, each with its expiry date and status. Below are this year's training hours and Add training.

Staff and directors get a notice before a credential expires.

Drills and the emergency roster

Step 1 — Open Emergency and drills

From your center's More menu, under Safety & Wellbeing, select Visitors. In its header, select the asterisk icon to open Emergency and drills.

Step 2 — Who is on site now

On site now counts the children, staff and visitors in the building right now, with a roll call by room. Use it during an evacuation.

Step 3 — Log a drill

  1. Open Drill log. Each drill type shows whether you are On schedule and when you last ran one.
  2. Select + Record drill. Choose the drill type, date and time, duration, and how many children and staff took part. Bloomz shows who is checked in right now to help. Add a note and select Save.
  3. To give licensing a copy, select the download icon, then Export CSV or Export PDF.
