Create tuition plans from a template and assign them to many children

Modified on: Thu, Oct 29, 2026, 7:22 AM

Set up monthly tuition once as a template, then put many children on it at the same time. Bloomz posts each invoice on the plan's schedule and families pay in the app, or automatically with autopay.

Who this is for

Center directors and anyone who sets up tuition.

Before you start

Payments must be set up for your center. Open Payments from your center, not from All Groups: Centers → your center → … (More) → Payments. The Payments tab bar is wide; on a small window, use the arrow at its right to see Library, Reports and the rest.

Step 1 — Make a plan template

Open the Library tab, then Plan Templates, and select Create a plan template. Give it a name, such as "Toddler Tuition (monthly)", and the monthly amount. Editing a template later never changes plans you already created.

Step 2 — Start the plan and pick the children

  1. Select Select an action → Create bill plans. Set up a billing plan opens with three steps: Add children, Set rate and Add details.
  2. Search for and tick every child who should get this plan, for example a whole room. Select Next.

Step 3 — Set the rate from the template

  1. Choose Recurring schedule, then Start from saved template, and pick the template.
  2. Check the charge line under How much will you charge?. Add more lines with + if needed.
  3. Under How often will payers get billed?, choose Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly or Quarterly.
  4. To give these children a discount, tick Apply a discount and choose Flat amount or Percent, the amount and a reason.

The Payer experience panel shows what families will see, for example "$1,850.00 charged monthly. Invoices sent 5 days before each due date."

Step 4 — Choose when it starts, then create it

  1. Set the date the First invoice posts and the day Invoices due on, for example the 1st of the month.
  2. Switch on Send a tuition agreement if families must e-sign before the first invoice.
  3. Switch on Require autopay to charge each family automatically on the due date.
  4. Check the Ready to create summary and select Create plan.

Watch out: Create plan sets up real invoices for every child you ticked. Check the list and the first invoice date before you create it.

See a child's plan

Open the Children tab, select the child, then Finance → Account details. Billing plans lists the plan, its amount and status, with Pause Plan. Their invoices are listed below.
